There is an inheritance that is to be enjoyed by virtue of our birth. Our new birth experience puts us into a kinship position, enabling us to live life victoriously. Our relationship with God is to be viewed most accurately from His perspective. Sonship privileges are to be experienced as we see ourselves the same way the Father does.
